Water pump on the way out

Hey guy's, I have a small leak at the water pump that I just noticed a few days ago. It quit and is back today. I have to drive from Houston to N Louisiana in the morning then to west Texas and won't be back until Friday. Do you think the pump will last until I get back to fixit?

It may last if your lucky but most likely not. Would be better to change it before.

Not doubting that it could be your water pump but......are you absolutely sure that it is coming from the water pump weep hole? The reason I ask is I had a coolant leak on my '99 that would come and go. Turned out to be the thermostat housing. It would leak when the engine cooled down and then once it was warm the leak would stop. The thermostat housing on these trucks are true crap and are prone to leak.

Back to your question though, if it is indeed the water pump I don't think I woiuld trust it for that many miles.

Mine leaks from time to time. CHANGED the thermo, housing to the billtet one (Much better) but I still get the leak from time to time. How do you really tell the pump is going? I thought it might be the lower hose area, that mounts to the pump. hope I am not on borrowed time.

Check the flange for the bottom hose of the water pump. There is an o-ring seal that likes to leak when cold.

well its hard to say, cause I can't crawl under there in my work cloths. (some what nice, adn I dont have many cause I am too cheap to buy more lol) but I will check it more closely when it leaks again. once or twice a month is when it does it if that even.
thanks
