neutral safety switch
Can someone tell me what year my c6 is i need a neutral safety switch.theres not one on it now so theres nothing to go by.My truck is 76 4x4 with 78 stering colum.thank you

78 they were on the trany at the shift linkage location, there will be two small threaded holes there. I have never owned a 77 so i don't know if that trany was set up that way or not.The earlier ones had it on the lower steering column , but i don't know when the change was made.

If you're asking what year you need because you don't have a switch, with the column swap it's not that easy.
If the trans is original to the truck it will be set-up for the column mounted switch. Your trans. case MAY have the bosses cast into the side to mount the switch, but the trans manual shift arm is different and will need to be changed.
If the transmission isn't original to the truck it's anybody's guess as to what you might have.
NSS were column mounted 73-77, mounted on the transmission 78-79. The '78 column won't have any provision to mount the switch.

C7TZ-7A247-A .. NSS (Motorcraft SW-600) / 1967/77 F100/350: Located on steering column.
DOTZ-7B097-B .. NSS Selector Lever / 1965/77 F100/350: Attaches to shift tube thru hole in steering column outer shroud, knife blade end fits into NSS.
