I have the column out of a 77-79 F 150, I believe. The truck will start in gear. Is the nuetral safety switch in the column up around the gear indicator, as I think? Do I just go to my LPS and for a new safety switch? How is it installed? Thanx in advance.

NSS
1965/77: C7TZ7A247A (Motorcraft SW600) / Mounted at the bottom of the steering column.
Activated by a Y shaped NSS selector lever (DOTZ7B097B) that snaps into the shift tube thru a slot in the mast jacket.
This lever is spring steel, the pointed end of the lever is notorious for snapping off, rendering it useless.
