A/C problems

I have a 05 6.0 PSD King Ranch crewcab with 103K miles. Recently the A/C kind has a mind of its own (it does blow cold/hot air). The fan seems to go on off and various airflow outputs and using the fan speed dial on the center console/steering works every now and then

any ideas?

cheap fix?

Under your hood on passenger side is the Blower motor. Pull the plug going into the blower motor and apply a liberal amount of dielectric grease. Worked on mine. Sometimes the plug itself is bad and the plug needs to then be replaced.

After hours of searching through this site, I fianlly came across an A/C thread even though its not the same problem I'm having.

I have an 06 PSD and for about the last year or more, my A/C has been out. Heater works fine as well as the the regular air vent with all the fan speeds of the blower. I have deployed twice in the last 2 years plus the weather hasnt been that bad as well as my wife doesnt drive it unless she needs to. I havent been able to take a good look at the problem. I have been back for about 3 weeks now and still cant seem to identify the problem. The A/C compressor spin while engine is running but when I kick on the A/C, nothing happens. Almost like the clutch isnt engaging. I've checked all the fuses and relays to that system and all see to check out. I am hoping I dont need to replace the compressor and I really dont want to pay the money to take it to a chop. Any advise?

Check the refridgerant charge. The compressor won't kick on if the freon is low
