hello every one. my sending unit it went bad. where can i get another one. ive looked at napa and places but no luck. am i going to have to go to the stealership?
If your average auto part store doesn't have it, you might wanna check ebay for reman, salvage or new parts (the prices are normally pretty competive), I used to have reservations about using ebay, but not anymore, thanks to paypal... However, autozone, napa, and advance all have the lift pump. (see below)
Also, for your 6.0 (?) you don't have a sending unit in the tank, its on the frame (same with the 7.3). Follow this link > 7.3 Fuel Diagram and Discussion The pump is outside the tank, under the drivers seat (approximately). (listed as the fuel pump in some of the pictures on that thread) I may be wrong here however... but if anyone is willing to correct me, at least you'll get your answer, lol!
Then again they didn't offer the 6.0 in 2000?
What motor are we talking about here, the 7.3 considering the forum or the 6.0 listed in your signature, which is kinda confusing?
Lastly, you may wanna think of upgrading that part, personally, I have plans for installing whats know as an "Air Dog" in place of my lift pump, (the cost of both justifies it, lol). Just something to think about.
i dont hove a 6.0 its a 7.3. but what i need is the part that tells how much fuel is in the tank. i have always called them sending units. i can see how it could be called a pick up. i just got this truck paid off i dont want to have another truck payment just yet.
When I did the hutch/harpoon mod, my fuel level sender was very rusty. I bought a replacement from tousley ford for a v10 gas engine...and it is pretty likely your pick up foot is bad...and, since you have to drop the tank to do all this, you might as well think about saving yourself a lot of future grief and do the hutch and harpoon mods...
are the sending units made for a gasser going to hold up in diesel fuel? and what would be the difference, in sending units, between the different wheel bases?
