Wow, that looks really nice. Is anyone aware of a similar setup for the 99-03 tailgate latches, that looks as good as this version? I've been on the hunt for something like this for quite a while. Looking through the Brandon Distributing site seems they only have it for 2004 and newer tailgate latches.

Yea I know but I've been busy trying to shoot bambi. I talked to a guy the other day that had a 2011 dually with the backup camera and his picture came up on his rear view mirror. Do they make aftermarket system for coming up in the mirror or only on the stereo display? I'd rather keep my stock stereo if I can and just change out my mirror.

I just added a back up camera to my 2000. I too have a 2008 tailgate with the step. I found the handle just like that on eBay for $30 and got a camera from amazon for $30. I had to JB Weld the sleeve for the camera in as the hole was just a little too big. You can't see any of it from the outside. It works great with my pioneer head unit. I like it a lot.

Ok so you can get the camera and handle to place it in for cheap, but what about the screen? Can that be parted together for cheap?

Guys where do the wires for the camera exit the tailgate? Any issues with pinching?

Thanks and Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has spliced this into an existing 'mirror' setup rather than the 'glass cockpit'. Today is Thanksgiving, so I may give Brandon Distributing a call tomorrow to see if they have advice. Thanks again for posting, especially the rear shots.
I did. My install
