just got a new nav system with backup camera. was wondering where to run the wire for the camera on this truck.
haven't actually looked at it yet but i'm thinking of running it along the undercarriage and up through a grommet in the firewall, is this the best way to do it or does anyone else have an easier way that would use less wire? because i think i'll have to extend it if i do that.
Just as a reference if anyone was wondering I ran it along the main harness down the driver side of the frame. The harness enters the cab through a grommet under the drivers door sill, you can run the camera right up the side of the grommet. The length was perfect I didn't even need to extend the wire.
Also the correct wire on this truck to tap into for the reverse signal (to get the camera to come up when you put it in R) is the bright grn with yellow stripe, i tapped into it near where the harness connects under the driver kickpanel (its the grey harness on the bottom when you take the kick panel out.
overall pretty easy install, also did my nav, bluetooth, and steering wheel controls today.
Hi, do you know if its the same colour for a 99 f150. I'm installing a boyo vtl420, and i need to find the reverse signal wire behind dash or somewhere around that. Any help?
