Aftermarket backup camera?
Saw an aftermarket backup camera at Costco and wondered if anyone has tried one. My job1 didn't have it and it sure would be nice for hooking up the trailer etc. Goes on rear license plate frame and has a little screen I'd only get out when I needed it- I don't want something else hanging off the dash.
I just wonder if it's a gimmick or would really be useful...

Sounds similar to one I got for Christmas (my brother got it from costco or sam's). I haven't installed it yet cause the weather's been cold and wet. But if its nice I'm gonna install it next week. I took it out of the box...the camera has a power and ground, but it is not hard wired to the monitor (it has a little antenna to send video wirelessly...i guess). Thats one less thing to wire, I just don't know where the heck I should string that antenna wire (I'd like to run it under the bed...I just don't know if the signal will be strong enough.) I'll post once I get it done.

I've used it before and it works pretty well. It can get interference with 900 MHz cordless phones, but other than that it's fine.
The reverse lamp wire is black w/pink trace. Look behind the bumper at the wiring loom and tap to it. Ground wire is there too.
