Thanks Carlene. I hope he does also.
If the templates for the flames arrive early this week I should have the flames shot and be back on the road by next week-end. Now if it would only stop raining!!!!!!!!

Man that is awsome. I'm gonna to the same to my 75 F100. (the flat black). Have planned on painting my truck that color for alomst 10 years, and now that I FINALLY have the truck, I can. How much did it set you back if you dont mind me asking? I kinda like the idea of just being able to hose/brush it off after gettin a "little" dirty.
Thank you. It's tough to nail an actual cost since each truck would require different preps. In my case I was putting the southern box on so it allowed me to paint behind the cab (figure in box removal if you want this). Then it depends on what your paint is like for a base. If you can finish sand your present paint you can save some. Bodywork, well this was an interm measure for me so the few small dents I didn't bother with. The flat black also hides a lot of things. If this is your final paint job then it would depend on the extent of work required on your truck. Masking, trim removal; these have cost and benifits that only you can determine are right for you.
I'm not trying to avoid your question, I just don't want to steer you in the wrong direction on cost. I'll check just how much paint we used and let you know but the rest is really dependant on your own platform. I hope to have gloss black flames shot by tomorrow and if I get it cleaned up I'll have a picture in my gallery by the week-end.
If you have any other questions I'll answer them as best I can.
John.
I would imagine that if the flat balk were to be the finished paint job, you might want to use a primer/sealer of some sort to keep the weather out- I know, I drove my truck around all year in gray primer and it rusted real bad. Luckly when they painted my truck (no pic in gallery yet) they sanded it all off and used a high build primer and sealer. 77460 your truck looks BAAAAAD (as in Goooooood)
cheers
Thanks Glenn. We used a base coat clear coat the first time and killed the clear with a matting agent (I'll have to ask the painter on the actual mix) to dull the paint giving it the flat black, like J**P toppers. It does require you to allow it a longer drying time or it shows handlings marks.
