I have a 2007 Expedition that I'm thinking about getting the Ziebart diamond gloss done on it. Has anyone had this done to any of their vehicles? is it worth the price?
I haven't used Ziebart Diamond Gloss. Is this something you have to take to a dealer or something you put on yourself like a polish? I searched for the product but could only find "contact your Ziebart dealer" as far as info goes.
I'm not real happy with Ziebart as of late. The undercoating put on the Expedition by them has done nothing but trap water and flake off in other spots. It did more harm than good IMO
The number one problem with Ziebart isn't so much the products themselves as the lack of knowledge by the technicians applying those products. I used to know a bodyshop owner here who had a contract with Ziebart to do rust repair work on cars they Ziebart rustproofed, it was a shade over $100,000 a year contract.
As far as the Diamond Gloss goes, just stick with a good high quality wax, you'll wind up spending too much money on a product that isn't any better than Mother's, Mequiars, Zymol or Flint wax made by Ardex. One of the problems I have heard advertised with the Diamond Gloss is that they claim it encapsules the paint making a sort of paint saving shell, well there's one problem with that. Paint is a porous product that needs to breathe, cutting off that ability will eventually be detrimental to a finish over time rather than help it.
