New Tuner

Ok so I broke down and bought my tuner the pipes are shipping separately so I decided to read the book that came with it and man am I confused. First what is defuleing I see that alot but have no idea what it means? It seems to measure all kinds of cool things but what do they all mean. So in short what should I set this thing at and what should I be monitoring? Any ideas would be great thanks in advance ohhh and its a H.P. MiniMaxx

If you mean (defueling), It means to remove fuel from.

Best bet is to go to the H&S forums. All you could ever want to know is there.

If you set the default defueling parameters on the minn max and exceed them then the truck will go into a no power mode and will default to a stock power mode until the parameters are again under the defuel parameters you set.

ok do I have to mess with this setting or can I let it pick the best one? I just wanted to stop the dpf and keep it pretty much the way it was maybe a little extra power but not much.

There are defuel default options. All you have to do is activate the defuel option on the min max. if you are not happy with the default settings they are easily adjusted. Check around this forum. lots of info on others parameters.

A lot of people are running these:

boost 38 psi
egt 1350 - 1450
cold coolant 170
Oil Temp 180 - 200
hot coolant 235
trans temp 195

Most find the shift schedule 1 on medium to be the favoured transmission position and Low boost fueling is your preference. 1 being the least amount of smoke on acceleration with 5 being the most.

I don't know how many things you can monitor on the mini but the EGT (exhaust gas temp), the EOT (engine oil temp), the ECT (engine Coolant temp) and the TFT (tranny fluid temp) are 4 that are popular. You can do the research on where the readings should be during normal operation and what max you want to set for an alarm. The idea is that you monitor these so that if something goes out of whack the alarm goes off and you can shut her down and save some money on repairs by avoiding a major componet failure. You don't have to monitor any of them.
