He doesn't want to do solid inventory until he has solid customers. It's a catch 22.
No, I don't have the money to throw down 3 thousand dollars to build a part to make it back over a long period of time. All I was trying to do is offer a fix that would work for others. With the MM part, the owners wanted the fix and were willing to pre order. It took the $$$ burden off of me and I did it for everyone...not for me.
I am interested, looks like mine maybe just quit today. I played around with it for a while while I drove. It didn't work for a while and then all of a sudden started to work. My guess is that it is broken though, and it is a matter of time before it quits again.
I want mine fixed! My wife is 5'2" and I am 6"5'. One of the features I loved about the Expedition.
I love my Fords, but stupid little cheap parts like these **** me off about them. Sometimes I would like to just slap upside the the head whomever approved trash like this to be used in production vehicles. Oh wait... they are the "Professionals" they know what works.
It has been almost a year since I visited this issue, I keep getting interest at the shop on fixing this issue. As of today, we ordered the correct tap to produce these gears. We were told that the assembly is no longer available form Ford. I have not verified that as of yet but the tools are in the works.
I will not have pricing or availability for at least 2 - 3 weeks.
