Power locks problem
when I want to unlock the doors on my drivers side switch the passenger door stays locked. At first it just unlocked slowly and now it's dead.
When I press unlock on the passenger side itself, both locks unlock just fine!

Remove the arm rest cover to get at the switch assembly for testing voltage at the termnals.
If ok, the door panel has to come off to access the lock motor.
The lock motor is actually a motor that turns a fast helex shaft to pull or push the lock up or down depending on the polarity of the voltage the switch applies.
The motor is mounted vertically and has a rubber boot to keep water out of the motor.
The boot comes apart from age and lets water in so rust takes over and seizes the movement.
Good luck.
If it's the driver's side switch, it will be a straightforward fix.
I've had a lot of problems like this over the years with my 97. I have concluded that the deterioration of grounds cause a lot of the problems with the door controls. For instance, I have had a very sluggish drivers side window for years. Sometimes it goes down. Other times it does not. Same with the passenger side window. I changed various motors, switches, and relays with no improvement. This past weekend, I had to tear out my dash to replace the heater core. Now both windows work much better than they have in years from either side's controls. The only thing I can figure is I somehow cleaned off the ground connections between the dash panel and the chassis by removing and reinstalling those mounting bolts. I know it sounds crazy, but my window switches barely worked at all last week (and sometimes they didn't). Now they work very well after that project.
