Weird Brake Light Problem
Just traded for my 1999 F350 Super Cab 5.4 4X4 last week, no problems at all except I can not get my brake lights to work. Signals work good, bulbs are fine and the the third brake light lights up just fine. Could it be the brake light switch? I had sort of ruled it out since the third brake light was coming on, but I am kind of at a loss now. I used the search but couldnt seem to find this exact problem. Thanks

Could be the turn signal switch. Also make sure the "4 way" flasher switch works. Sometimes a fuse blows on this, and if turned on will cause the brake lights not to work.
I'm with you on the brake light switch, since 3rd brake light works. The rear lights go though the turn signal switch.
