When two questions are part of one sentence then the resulting answer will address both issues as opposed to singling them out. Had your question been in two parts Rebar's answer might have said: "truck frames are different, not sure about body mount bushings.........." or something to that effect. How we ask questions greatly affects the answers we give.

Sorry Rebar---not trying to put words in your replies!

Now I'm thinking the other way -- a new cab on my 1986 4WD ambulance.

I wonder if the cab mounting is the same?

Damn, been digging through my Ford service manuals and can't find anything in my 1989 set showing body mount locations or even frame rail dimension, was hoping somebody would post something on here.

my 2003 E350 is in need of major body repairs for me to get it through its annual safety, overdue................. I have a 1979 E250 body from the southeast US and before that California. I would be very happy to mount this body on my 2003 chassis and make the wiring work if it would bolt on. also have a very low mile 76 Chateau solid but lots of paint work needed that would be cool too!

I'm going to do some measurements this weekend but would really like to see some chassis drawings from a body build manual or similar.

I hate doing a body job on a vehicle that is most likely in its last year, will have a 4wd pickup for next winter.

a 76 or 79 E250 would be cool with a powerstroke under the bonnet!

body mount locations front>< rear (height if possible) WB we already know is same. but placement of body mounts in comparison to those body mounts is a biggie.

"" side<>side.

location of centreline of axle/spindle in comparison to those body mounts.

nice chassis, must be carefull who you say that to and context

was watching a E250 4x4 in Sudbury for sale but the frame is junk and its a low pinion D44

No it ain't.

1992 and newer vans have several inches of crumple zone added to the front frame rails for one big difference I can think of real quickly. This was a change in overall length, not just a change in shape. Frame rails grew in profile and thickness as time went on, just like truck frames did from 1975-2012. Weight classes differ at least slightly with reinforcements added (riveted mostly) to 250 and 350 frames that 100s (E100 models discontinued after 1983) and 150s don't have. Fuel tank locations changed too, 75-91 were aft of the axle std (~22 gal) and midship optional (16 or 18 gal, depending on year and engine), after 92 were all midship except some cab&chassis models like for Uhaul, Winnebago, etc. Spare tires are mounted under the body after 1991 so at minimum, bracketry and such dimensions change back there too. From 2008-up the radius arms changed rather drastically (bushings turned 90 degrees) but kits are available to convert the 1992-2007 models to the newer style (makes ya think there's a reason the kits aren't sold for 75-91 models, huh?). Bumpers went from direct-mounted 75-91 (bolts go through bumper on one end and through the frame rail on the other) to bracket-mounted 92- (bracket bolts to frame, bumper bolts to bracket) so frame horns on newer vans are shorter and not flanged to accept bumpers, just drilled for bolts. Rear leaf springs are 2.5" wide on E150s and 3" on heavier vans and they fit only certain frames from 75-91, 92-06, and 07-12. A 2012 spring won't fit a 91 frame, in other words. Front springs fit 75-91 and 92-15.

There never has been a Ford factory-built fullsize van with 4wd so suspensions, axles, transmission and transfercase crossmembers, and fuel tanks (if midship) of those will vary by who converted them (Quigley, Pathfinder, Billybob in his garage, Clydesdale in Canada, Quadvan, Sportsmobile, etc) not to mention whatever changes they made to the frame when the cut off the now un-used parts.

deposit on another van today, but its a former cube van. 176" wheelbase.
got it for scrap value basically, engine was seized from sitting, seller didn't know why it wouldn't turn over.

I wanted the 460 parts for my shorty, only 75-91 I have are diesel or smallblock.

when I pick it up on Friday I will post some pics, I will be cutting it up pretty quick, probably lift off the cab and cut the frame rails off at the trans crossmember. was a greenhouse/flower van so not much salt/winteruse.
too bad it was a C6, was hoping for an e4od. no complaints at $350

had to measure it and make sure it would fit on my trailer

found a pic from the advert I saved. ain't she a beauty
