Tow/Haul Button problem

Anyone had the light on the dash not light up when you press the tow/haul button? Mine doesn't. Wondering if a bulb is burnt out or a bad button or what.

Thanks!

The wire in the shift handle breaks, just had this issue, new handle with wire costs under $50 IIRC. Takes 10-15 minutes to replace. Tried to pull the old wire out and splice and wasn't worth the hassle.

IIRC= If I Recall Correctly

remove the steering column cover with the screws under the column then you remove 2-3 more screws holding the lever and lever cover on, unplug the wire harness and replace. Very straightforward when you get the cover off. I never found any thorough how to's when I did mine.

I have an online factory service manual with the removal steps along with everything you would need to know to do it like Ford suggests. It's Ford's Service Manual. I could email you the pages in a pdf if you're interested in doing it. Just PM me and let me know.

When I looked they had tons of breakdowns for build dates but not sure if that matters at all mine was: 8C3Z7210AA Looked at the invoice and it was $51 from Ford, looks like they are on ebay for about $10 less. My dealer also like to screw you on parts prices so expect to pay less in most cases.

I removed the 3 screws on the underside, so I just pull down on it and it will come off? How about the tilt lever? Leave it on or remove it too?
I didn't hear back from the guy that was going to send directins so I don't want to break anything.

Thanks!

It splits at the lever IIRC, pull the bottom off, there are tabs on each side that hold it to the top. Then pull the top off after tilting the wheel down all the way. Think I had to use a flat head screw driver at the seam to separate the tabs.
