Wiper Switch?

Think my eyesight is getting really bad.

I need to replace the wiper switch in 89 Bronco. Got ***** off and panel popped away. It "looks" like there's a C-clip on the shaft of the switch. It's not coming off. So is it a C-clip? Is there a trick, or did the PO crazy glue the **** on there?

I assume it is the 89 in your name? from a picture i saw on a new switch (if it is not the kind mounted on the column) There might be a nut on the outside part that you loosen and pull the assembly through the back. But i am not sure completely as i have nover pulled my 78's switch out.

To get the **** off, use a small flat screwdriver & push on the flat spring holding the **** on. Push the spring into the **** & slide the **** off at the same time. Once you get one off you'll see how easy it is. The ***** on the heat/AC controls come off the same way.
