I'm probably going to pull the engine back out to modify the oil pan, and change how the mounts are set up so it sits in there a bit better. This is also the same truck I did the disc brake and power steering conversion on.
These old trucks were designed to work and personally, I think the highest honor you can give one is to keep it working, even if just occasionally.IMHO, it's (almost) a desecration to drop one in the weeds and put huge bling wheels on it. Although I see nothing wrong with a modern drivetrain if it means you can drive it more.
