Starting Problem

I have a 2004 F250 powerstroke. Sometimes when I go to start it and turn the key it makes a click and does nothing. So I turn the key back and try again and sometimes it starts or sometimes I have to try that 6 or 8 times. And once in a while it starts the first time. Any suggestions.

The first thing I'd be checking for is loose or bad battery and battery cable connections to include the grounds on the block.

Batteries tested good and I checked all the connections and they was good. Someone else told me it could be a bad solenoid

Check for voltage drops at the starter solenoid 'S' terminal directly.
