What is this????

The pic below is of the transmission crossmember on my 2004 Excursion 4x4. Does anyone know what that metal piece is hanging below the crossmember?

That was developed at Area 51.
It is a government tracking device to
Track oversized SUVs, corelating these trucks
To the demise of the ozone layer.

It may be a different form of counter vibration devise.

I am not 100% sure though.

I am from another galaxy, using an iPhone.

Very useful when replacing that rear diff pinion seal .

Never underestimate your truck nutz.

Ah I see the search function woulda been my friend here.

So since we are speculating here, I think it might be a centralized jacking point for the entire truck. Im gonna borrow my neighbors 12 ton floor jack and slide under there and test my hypothesis this afternoon. It will certainly make brake bleeding jobs easier for one. Will post results later - if I'm able to.
