Oh Crap Another Headlight thread

I plan on installing a head light conversion kit and up grading my wiring harness and using Hella halogen 50/100w bulbs. I will not ever be upgrading to HID's because I find them way to obnoxious.

My question is is do I want a clear lens like this

Or a rough coated one like this

Thanks

I've had better luck with clear faced ones. The ridged ones produce funky patterns with some lights

Depends on the brand. From the cheap inserts I've had better luck with the clear lenses. I also agree the clear ones generally look better. However, for best light you want a decent brand insert, and they mostly have the patterned lenses. I've had best results with Cibie, followed by Hella, followed by Narva.

Definitely clear. Better beam pattern, more light, better cut off, and it looks cleaner.

No offense, but all of those saying clear have obviously never driven behind a set of Cibies... Best headlights I've ever driven behind.
