Its not a money issue per say, I am always looking to save some money.
I am a huge fan of the Toyo MT, I have run them for 8 years or more now, a new set on each rig every 18 months to 2 years.
But as I said before, with three kids and the single earner the cost is something to think about...
Call them, and see if they will let you choose a certain age limit with the time stamp on the sidewall, most places selling these won't, they just tell you the % used. I have a friend in the tire business, and he says those warehouses sell those tires on a regular basis that are 8-12 years old. You won't find any reputable shop that will mount a tire older then 6. It's just not worth it......ya get whatcha pay for

I have talked to them, they tell me they sell nothing that is older then 24 months. The will not even buy them.
well I guess if you don't like them, it's only a $400 lesson + shipping + mounting.
Since you'll be keeping your current rims (I hope) it's not a risk really. You could always sell the new set, and get the Toyo's or whatever other type you want later.

Thats my plan... Worst case my wife can use them in the winter with studs... But Nothing is happening right now anyway. Be a month or so before I pull the trigger.
My Cummins had these on it when I bought it 10 years ago. They were 315/75r16s and the max inflation was 35psi. Like others have said they are C rated, they didn't stay on the truck long. Once it was chipped and was putting down some power the back tires wore out real fast for some reason. It would actually wrinkle the side walls at 35PSI when I would leave the line hard. I still do have one left, that I kept for a spare.
