I am the proud new owner of a 2004 F350 FWD Crewcab Dually. The truck has the polished alluminum 16 inch wheels and the smallest tires in the world, well not really but they look like it. Anyway I was wondering what is the biggest tire I can put on the stock rims that I have without running into any complications. A tire store told me I had to stay with what is on there 235/75 R16. Is this true. Thanks for any help.
The biggest problem is going to be the width. You do not want the tires to touch each other, this will create a bunch of heat and cause the side wall to give out. You could spend the time going through different tire manufacturers website and using there tire sizing guides to find a tall narrow tire. It would be best to go directly to a tire store to have them help.
I have seen pictures of dually's lifted with big tires on them, but I would assume they swapped wheels also. I am not sure if you would want to put a spacer in between the wheels, that seems like it would put a ton of force on the lug nuts.
