I was wondering where the positive cable of an edelbrock carb goes to?
I know where the black one goes to, but im not to sure about the positive cable
Help anyone?
If you haven't converted to a 3G alternator, then there is normally an unused plug on the firewall with two wires. One is white with a black tracer... it sources its signal from the alternator's stator.
I saw you on the thread started by "husker77" and the location was told there. But in case you missed it you should find it on the passenger side of the fire wall about midway between the heater and center of truck. Of course it may have been cut out for some unknown reason . You can run a new tap from the [ S ] stator post on your alt. to the [ + ] on your chock.
the edelbrock uses a full 12 volts with the ignition in run , so take a test light and probe around till you find a 12 volt source with ign. in run postion. theres always a source someplace under the hood.
What is that red wire going to ? You should not have to tap in to that terminal for anything, somethings not right .

The wire im holding is coming from the choke, the other wire is connected to the solonoied, in which it goes to the wiring harness
All i know is that it only gets current when i turn the key
I just placed it there for right now
Do you guys this is a good place to leave the cable?
Or should i reroute it somewhere else?
That wire looks like it's going to one of the small (Either "I" or "S") terminals on the starter solenoid. That WON'T work. Those terminals are only energized when the key is in "START" position so the choke will only have power going to it for a few seconds.
The choke needs a 12v in "run" power source.
Even though the choke takes 12 volts to operate, many people hook it up to the original factory location (6-7v) and say it works fine.
The original factory wiring (white w/ black trace) goes from the stator ("S") terminal on the alternator to the choke terminal.

Im not sure where that "S" terminal is at, i think i will just reroute it to a fuse or something just to be safe

Enough is enough.
NO, you can NOT route the choke to ANY part of the starter solenoid! If you route it to the 'S' terminal, it will only be hot in START. If you route it to the 'I' post, it will be back-powered through the ballast resistor wire in RUN and cook your dash wiring harness.
You have asked the same question three separate times in three separate threads, only to STILL wire it the wrong way with zero acknowledgement of other people's advice. You are wasting everybody's time. There is a difference between legitimately seeking help, and blatant ignorance. You clearly demonstrate the latter.
The "s" terminal would be on the back of the alternator. If you pull it off you would be able to see a "s" marked by one of the studs. Could you not find that other connector? It works really good since it is only like 12" away from the choke.
