Precission Part Numbers
2003, F-350 SD, 6.0L, Crew Cab Long Box,
Anybody know the Precision part numbers for the rear drive shaft universal joints? ( Federal Mogal ) I got 2- 330s, seemed to fit the front of the rear shaft but not the rear. The problem seems to be at the rear flange. Blew out the clip groove on install twice. Now I need the rear flange piece. Does the 330 fit both the front and rear of the rear shaft? If the 330s are the right fit then I guess this problem is self induced.

Not sure about Precision but I was just looking into some Dana/Spicer U-joints for my pickup. They seem to be going one at a time here so I'm going to be replacing the whole works with their Premium Life Series. I believe they sell an entire kit for each individual application which is convenient for me. Calling them tomorrow with a few questions and will likely order them up then.

Got it figured out. You have to go by the diameter of the yoke, not the diameter of the drive shaft. My truck has two different yokes that are used, a 3-5/8 od yoke uses a Precision 331 and a 4-3/16 yoke uses a 330 universal. I used the right universal, but trashed it on the install. Picked up a used flange, took my time and did a proper install. All is good. Being a Shade Tree Mechanic you have to expect setbacks, dust yourself off and move on.
