HPO crossover ?

I know the SS HPX that Clay sells is a hard line, but can this be made with 5000 psi stainless steel braided hydraulic hose? I have some #5 o-ring fittings that I got to do a HPO gauge, but I was thinking about doing a crossover and tee the gauge in the middle of it. Will this work?

I don't see why not. IMHO it isn't really a necessary item though.

I've read that it can smooth out idle and help get oil to, I think it was #8 injector As far as being necessary, I don't really know, but I wanted to do a gauge so I thought I'd do it like this and have both. Besides, how much of the stuff we do to these trucks is really "necessary" LOL!!

Yeah. I mean I am sure they help, but it just seems like another thing to have a leak from. I've always wanted to try it though.

If you dont mind me asking, what is your future swap? Will the hard line of clays not work with a bigger turbo? Bill are you gonna have the gauge stay under the hood or is it gonna be a sender with a gauge in the cab?

Mine helped smooth out my idle a little bit. Don't have unrealistic expectations, and I think you'll be pleased.

I really wish there was a way to compare truck idles. For example my truck is the nicest thing I've ever driven so it is hard for me to say it idles rough or anything. But it does have a bit of a shake during idling. Nothing crazy, and it is probably just how it works.

Mine was inconsistent RPMs. It romped very slightly. Didn't shake, but the variation in pitch due to the variance in the RPMs that the engine was doing was annoying to me. It was very subtle and very slight, but the HPX took care of most of it. Well worth the cost of the kit to me.

Sounds like I may need this kit then.

Bill,

Make sure and let me know what kind of HPO line you fab up. Reckon I should try this mod, leaks be damned.

I wouldnt mind doing it out of SS braided. Would look better and be less of a hastle than a hard line it seems to me. I dont see why it wouldnt work bill, after all it isnt as if it is a precision bent line like an injection line that has to have a certian pressure and bends.

If you do end up doing it with the line, be sure to take pics! Speaking of pictures, OT but anything else going on with the CC? I know youve been busy on the F250 and that D60, just seeing whats new.

Just gonna stay under the hood for now Gabe.

I'll take some pics when I do it Rob. Not much going on with the cc. I get some of this stuff out of the way and I'll start back on it.

Mine is a flex line I got from dieselsite. I've heard of the hpop lines being made, I don't know why you couldn't make the crossover, as long as its made for high enough pressures. I don't think I'd tee into it though, I think I'd just use one of the other plugs in the head for the gauge. JMO though. Put your plugs and orings in the glovebox, just in case.

Its just a 2k motor and i plan on ic, 38r,efuel...etc. just not compared head plug location, not sure of hpx vs ic pipes.my luck i would buy it and it would not fit down the road is my concern.the bad part is it would be cheapest of all my mods...it may be that it is worth it until i do the swap.it is going to be a while.baby steps!
