They will leak where the hose connects to the fitting. The motor vibrates and causes eventual issues.
As for travis, there are people out there who get products that are generally defective but never have issues.
Not saying the soft line system is defective, but there have been lots of issues. Many people have told me about leaks.
All I can say is carry two extra plugs with you. My braided line leaked real bac and until I could find a couple I was screwed and worried about it blowing up and stranding me!
I understand the issues that could arise with the hose, but it's basically the same thing as the lines that run from the hpop to the heads, ss braided hose with jic fittings. If it starts to leak or give me problems, I'll take it back off and do something else I guess.
Any leaks yet Bill? i can make high pressure hose at my work as well, but for <$60 from clay, i'm thinking i may just go that route.
without checking against my truck, it looks like his hard line is pretty intelligently bent around existing components. has anyone found it to preclude later mods, though? doubt i'll ever to an intercooler, but i do have dreams of e-fuel eventually...
OldWoodsDiesel,
I have used one from Clay, and another one from Strictly Diesel on two different 7.3 trucks. I have no leaks on either one, once you put the OEM orings on the adapters.
I prefer the Strictly Diesel one for the routing (drops down low into the valley), and Clays' for the connection design. I would never go with a pressure hose, personally. Too much heat in that area.
