My 79 ranger is having a issue with the front brakes it still stops but not well. It's leaking out of the master cylinder so not sure if that means its junk or what. Any help would be appreciated.
How is the pedal pressure? Is it a good hard pedal or does it feel "soft"? Does it go to the floor? Where is the master cylinder leaking? Is it power or manual brakes?
Why do you say the problem is with the front brakes?

Welcome to FTE, there are a lot of good, knowledgeable people here more than willing to answer any questions you might have.
If there is no pedal pressure and the M/C is leaking, I would start by first pulling all the wheels and do a visual inspection. With brakes you can tell a great deal by doing a visual.
Deffinitely replace the master cylinder and take care of anything the visual comes up with.
The brakes on these trucks have never been "world class" performers, but with proper maintenance they are more than adequate.
