Ok so this is weird, and the only thing I can think of is the slave cylinder took a ****.
1994 F150 I-6 M5R2 4x4, got everything done on it, full tune up, front clip swap, front brakes etc. etc.
Go for a test drive today, clutch slips REALLY bad in 1st gear, and won't move in other gears.
Yesterday evening, it was driving fine, however I did notice the clutch was at the top of pedal instead of being gradual like when I first drove the truck home after buying it?
So just asking this to confirm this does sound like the slave cylinder is the problem correct? Out comes the tranny for that one
My self I would be looking at the master cylinder unless the slave is leaking..
Did you replace the master? If so how was the length of the push rod? It sounds like it could be a little long and not letting the fluid back into the reservoir..
Anyway to see it, if that's the problem? Or shoot some lube up in there without taking the trans out?
I forgot to say in the post, I just pulled out a giant ball of mouse nest stuff from the bell housing, (before the test drive) I don't know if that could of messed anything in there, and i'm clueless of how they even got in there. The drain hole is to small even for a mouse, let alone even getting up there.
Truck has never been parked for any length of time, was used on an auction lot for the last 6 years. So ALOT of clutching has been done.
Well I just got done cleaning out the pressure plate, it was indeed full of mouse nest ****.
Now all cleaned out, it's drivable, but still slips abit if you give it alot of gas. So new clutch kit it is..... if I don't get a nice 78 F250 4x4 4 speed that just poped up for sale.
I have a 2004 6.0 with a 6 speed manual transmission. I put a new clutch in 2015. Pickup has 310,000 kilometers on it and always has a gooseneck trailer hooked on it. Clutch quit working yesterday very suddenly. Can mice actually get inside and cause this to happen? Maybe this is my issue...
There is no resistance when I step the pedal in. Pickup still drives just fine in all the gears, but I have to shift without the clutch. It wont stop the pickup either once moving.
