clutchh???
i have a 1994 ford ranger 2 wd, my truck has recently been having some problems.. my clutch does not seem to be working.. i push it in and the car does not go into neutral.. if i put it in gear then turn it on the truck it starts moving forward on its own.. once i am going i can not change gears.. it will start grinding.. ive done the rpm test.. the clutch is not slipping.. i filled up my clutch fluid as it was empty.. but this did not fix the problem.. is the clutch mastercylinder the problemm?? pleae helppp????

i had the same problem with my '94. turns out it was the master cylender leaking inside the firewall. when i had that repaired, they found the slave cylender (?) was bad. once both were replaced and they bleed the clutch everything was fine.

The clutch not fully disengaging is either the master cylinder, slave cylinder, or throwout bearing. Since your fluid level went down, it nails it down to one of the cylinders. Look around the master cylinder on the firewall both inside and out, if you see leakage, the master cylinder is going out. If not, the slave cylinder is, which requires you to drop the tranny to replace it.

Also, pull the plug out on the side of the bellhousing, and check for any sign of moisture. It may not be much, but you'll be able to feel/see dampness. If so, it's another strike against the slave.
P.S. remember to bench bleed the master cylinder when you do fix it, you'll almost certainly have air in it.
