I have a e250 van with V6 which has service engine soon light on. Light came on after transmission rebuild. Computer says left & right bank to lean. I have replaced oxygen sensors, PVC valve, plug wires and coil pack. I'm getting great gas milage and the engine runs great even with 260+ thousand miles. The problem is at idle and not all the time, the engine acts like it looses 2 cylinders, it has stalled once but acts like it wants to stall when it happens. It does not happen all the time and only at idle once I hit the gas the thing runs perfectly smooth. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance
OK now I've replaced the IOC and still have the same problem at idle, it actually stalled out on me after IOC was replaced which did not happen before. Seem with each thing replaced the idle problem becomes worse. Whats left to replace?
thanks for the advise, anybody know where I can find a diagram of the vacume lines? It's kind of hard to see everything the way the engine is stuffed in.
Well found a big problem, after taking off the air cleaner and cleaning the air sendor and other stuff I went to start the van and it cranked over and I heard a clunk, stopped and took a look and found the harmonic balancer laying on the frame. The bolt sheared off, NICE Looked like the bolt had broken off a while ago and luckly the thing waited to fall off while in the drive way of my shop. I'll bet it will run better with the balancer back on and hope that is was the cause of my rough idle but probably not.
