What gears do I have??
I have an 01 Supercrew 5.4 4x4 auto and I've been wondering which gears I have. Pulling out from a stop, I cannot spin the tires (not that I want to) and doesnt seem to pick-up until higher rpms. Also, when towing a 2000lb trailer, I have a turn the od off when driving on flat ground on the highway. My tires are 265-70-17 BFG All-Terrains, which are a little bigger than stock. Im wondering if the previous owner changed out the gears for better highway mpg as I am @2000 rpm going 75-80. I think stock are 3.55 but I dont think thats whats in there. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated. Thanks

Stock is 3.55.... my truck runs 1650 RPM at 60 MPH. I think you probably have stock gears.. If i put a 2000 pound trailer on my truck, i would not even know it was there on flat ground.... except the milage MPG would drop.
