I have recently had my C6 rebuilt along with my trucks 4 bbl Holley. I don't run the truck much because I'm in the middle of restoring it. Anyways, it sat for about 2 months without being run and I decided to fire it up and run it. When I have it in Drive and hit the gas, expecting it to downshift, it feels like it wants to take off but instead just starts sputtering and jumping, not completeing the downshift to 2nd gear seemingly.
In my opinion, I don't think it is the tranny with the problem. I don't think the carb is getting enough fuel to the engine or something. But I figured I would get some advice from you guys on what the problem could be before I start digging in. Any help is appreciated.
You could be right. I checked the fluid level that day and it looked like there was enough but it was leaking some fluid this summer when it got hot out. Thats the next puzzle I have to figure out.....I don't know why its leaking tranny fluid again...
Which holley carb?
Could be accelerator pump!
Was the truck fully warmed up when you put the pedal to the metal?
I will have to look at the carb to get the number I can't remember it, but it is a 4bbl. And yes the truck was completely warmed-up.
I was crawling under it yesterday and it seems to be leaking more and more tranny fluid from where the tranny meets the engine. I already took the dang thing out once and don't feel up to doing it again anytime soon. It wasn't leaking after I had it rebuilt a yr ago. Where could it be leaking from? What seals are up in there?
