My scanGauge messed up two days after I bought it. I called Linerlogics customer service and the gal said they were having trouble with some cables. They send me a new SG2 within 48 hours no questions asked . I didn't even have to show proof of purchase. BUT --- no cable came with the new SG2 and that was the problem, so I had to take the original back to autozone for a new unite and was good to go

Sounds like they don't know which end is up. After hearing all this, I think I agree that it's the SGII and not the truck. I'm now waiting for it to screw up again so I can see which other gauges also stopped working. I think that would tell us AND the ScanGauge folks a lot.
The new SGII Base unit solved my problem I used the original cable
Now with the new unit last winter I couldnt power on the SGII before the truck started when it was cold half the gauges was blank if I tried to power SGII Before truck started
I just let power on on its own and no problem warrenty is long gone so I dont worrey about it
But kinda makes it hard to see some of those voltages right before crank
The suckle part was first I checked all fuses with a continuity tester in the cab and under th hood. Then I had to draw a diagram of the OBDii port to see which five pins ford used, then find those pins on the SG2 and test those wires on the cable for ohms. Then do the test 3 times to make sure of my diagnosis. End condition was two dead wires on the cable

Mine will do the same thing, just intermittently. Sometimes it lights up and reads accurately as soon as I turn the key. Next time, it'll be 30 seconds after I put it in gear before the light even comes on. I think they need to tighten up on the quality control. They clearly are making a nice profit if they can send everybody who complains a new unit.

You know what all this is telling me? The cord costs them more than the unit does! That's why when you have a cord problem, you get a new unit.
One other funny thing is the SGII does not seem to play well
with other OBD2 tools on a "Y" cable. Mine would lockup and only
fix was to restart the truck. I tried unplugging the 2nd device and
nothing. on restart it was fine. What I had plugged in is the

I also have seen the delay in the SGII turning on .

I don't mean to sound overly critical. All things considered, it's an awfully cool tool at a really good price. I just think it could be better without a lot of effort.
