I have the "Readiness Test Not Complete" for about 1-1/2 weeks. I did have P1690 Code (Wastegate Control Circuit) which was showing up for a couple weeks prior. I would clear the code, and after a couple days, the P1000 would disappear. When the P1690 came up again, same thing... I replaced the Solenoid for the wastegate last weekend, and the P1690 has not returned. But the P1000 is still there.... I made several trips, including a 100 mile round trip Last Tuesday, and a couple of 90 mile round trips to work...... any idea how long it should take to clear the P1000? Or am I looking at another problem??
So, it's been almost 3 weeks, and no one posted any ideas or suggestions????
Oh well..... here's what has happened since the original post:
1. I bought a Scangauge II and installed it the evening of the 12th (I really like this tool!) I get the "NOT READY" still. No codes, pending or otherwise..
2. I towed my TT to San Diego on the 15th, and returned on the 19th.....
3. I ran several errands with the EX, and I am driving it to work this week (~90 mile RT)
I am scheduled to take it next Tuesday after work to a friend who is a mechanic with his own shop. He'll hook it up to his diagnostic equipment and see what we find..... I'll post up results here
To get rid of the P1000 you have to generate the readiness code.
How to do that is different between every make and model.
Now on VW it's easy, you just tell Vag Com to generate the code and it leads you through a 26 step program and if all systems are go at the end of it you have your code.
I had found the "Drive Cycle" (see attached) which is supposed to reset the sensors..... I would have to drive a looong way to try this, as there is just too much traffic where I live.....
Everything I have read indicates after a few days of normal driving, the system should reset itself....
I live in heavy traffic too, 20 miles minimum in the shortest route to get to an open road.
If it has to be done you might try lifting the rear axle off the ground and putting them on jack stands.
Let the ABS go crazy and do the routine.
Okay..... Some more info..... I had my mechanic run the diagnostics last week, and he got a P1211 Code. Didn't show up on the Scangauge, though.... no CEL, either.... I ran the Ex for another week, and still got the "Not Ready" message. So today, I drove my 45 mile drive to work in stock setting on my DP, instead of 80E. I unplugged the S/G and plugged in my Diablosport Predator, and ran the diagnostics. Lo and behold, P1211!! I cleared the code; ran the diagnostic again, and got P1000. So I reconnected the S/G, left it in stock setting again, and drove home. I had to stop at the pharmacy, and as I parked, I did the scan...No codes Found; READY!!! I've been watching the ICP & IPR during my drives. Cruising along @ ~70 mph, ICP is high 1600 to low 1700. IPR is 20 to 22% Not having any baseline, do these numbers look right?
