My oil press guage does not work so I was trying to track down what the issue could be. Well I get to the sender and there is a wire on it. A thick black wire wrapped around the A/C hoses. I ground it out to see of the guage moves and nothing. Then I start thinking that maybe that isn't the sender wire but the wire for the A/C clutch.(mine is missing) So I trace it to the firewall and it goes into the firewall by the A/C housing. It also is long enough to reach the compressor. About a 12ga size too. OK, if that is the A/C wire then where is the oil sender wire? Looking further I see a group of about 3-4 wires laying on the manifold, drivers side. One has a wire crimped on it and it went under the brake booster and just ended at a ring terminal. The others go to the ignition and water temp sender. I'm thinking this could be the oil sender wire. Then I find 2 different connectors above the A/C box. One is a single wire with a plastic spade coupler on it. The other is 2 wires with a rubber type conector. Someone has cut one of the wires and added a short length of wire to nowhere.

So Anyone know which wire is for the oil sender and what do the others do? Thanks.
The wire you're looking for is the one grouped in with the other wires on the manifold. Ford calls this the "engine gauge feed harness"
The wire for the oil pressure will be white with a red trace.
In the last picture, the double connection more than likely went to the carb. If the two wires are white w/ black trace (automatic choke) and light blue (anti-diesel solenoid) then thats the plug I'm talking about. The other plastic connector, don't know off hand.
Thanks so much. I will check them out in the morning. I finally have a day to work on the old girl. The guy I bought the truck from said the engine had been replaced recently so I am thinking some of the wires did not get hooked up & might be why they were off to the sides out of the way.
Today went well. I made up a push on conector for the oil sender and the guage now works! Also used the choke wire for the auto choke on the Edelbrock carb and adjusted it. Now that works. Got the powersteering gear replaced but have a whiney ps pump. Even managed to Gunk and clean the engine at the diy car wash. Thanks again for you help.
