Dang now I'm lost on my build lol... I think if I can find the turbo I think I might stuff one of these under my hood .... By the way are u camed yet ??? Or did I miss that somewhere
Update: still ticking away, been getting 14.5mpg city 17.2mgp hwy, still boosting high, still holding fine. Work has me busy so haven't been on here much, and haven't messed with any actuators yet...hopefully get time soon before the next dyno run
He's got time... I think he wants to do a direct comparison to last times dyno.... Worn out pump vs. Worn out pump, and that way he can see if there is any benefit to the VGT setup...
Very good point. That makes sense. The biggest benefit though of the Vgt is that it can push more boost efficiently than the 093. I am sure there will be some quite noticeable gains though. It will be really interesting to see it all unfold.
Purchased an electronic actuator few days ago, taking a different route with it though. I decided I wanted to be in full control over it, I will rig a potentiometer dial in the cab somewhere convenient likely on the shifter handle. With this I can play with different settings I guess you could say, see what's better for power, MPG, and the whistle for when I drive past them 6.oh's lol . Also, with this the exhaust brake will be fully functional.
Now I realize it might be a hassle and more attention used while driving, but I'm fine with that. Driving this truck is fun, so I don't mind having to adjust it at certain times...
Thoughts or suggestions welcome, if not ill post it up when done.
That's cool. With a potentiometer will it override the function of the controller? Or can you set it to a certain limit and then the vanes adjust from the max input of the potentiometer? I guess what I'm asking is, do you have to turn the potentiometer as you drive to open up the vanes as you drive? I'm confused how it is going to work exactly. Lol
Did not get the fleece controller. Just an electronic actuator...witch came in the mail this week but had a 14" stroke! Sent me the wrong one...ordered a 4" stroke and some additional limit switches we can wire in
I see. So with running your setup like that, it will still kind of work like the Fleece controller? And the potentiometer will just limit the range the vanes open? Am I understanding it correctly?
Also with only painting the outside of your intercooler pipes, how are you keeping them from rusting on the inside? Do you think the vapor from the crank case prevents rust in them? I am a lil low on cash and was hoping that would be the case so I don't have to pay to get it powder coated just yet.
