I was going to order some tapered blocks for the rear of my Ex. I have it all leveled out with 4 inches of lift in the front (1.5 inches from V codes, 2 1/2" from a full length spring pack) and my modded B codes.

But it just doesn't look right to me. I find that I like the tail a bit higher than the front.

So I started looking around at all the threads and found these part numbers:

Left Tapered Block: F81Z5598FA
Right Tapered Block: F81Z5598GA

It is listed on the Ford parts dealers sites as "spacer 4WD, 137, 142" wheelbase"

Now, while looking around and comparing prices, I noticed that those numbers are for the 1999 through 2001 F350 models.


Current prices at Tousley ford are $63.88 for the left and $61.02 for the right.

However, If you look at 2002 and above, you get a really different price if you drill down through the menu and choose the part by application.

For the 2002 through 2004 F350:

spacer 4WD, 137, 142" wheelbase Left $42.79
spacer 4WD, 137, 142" wheelbase Right $31.24


Now, those prices are closer to the flat (non tapered) blocks as shown in this listing:

Those cheaper blocks, 3Z-5598-CA and 3Z-5598-BA (LH, 4x4 - 137", 142" WB - DRW, FROM 1/23/02, 2002/ 2004 ; Ford 350 Series) in the listing above are shown as no longer available.

Makes ya wonder, don't it? What is Ford thinking?



BTW, Tousley ford is the cheapest I found.
