Battery fading
@ housedad, how much are those AGM 65 batteries? Aint they like 200 each?
Odyssey AGM size 65 batteries are highly prized in the RV world. Just last weekend, at the Hershey RV show, a guy in the parking lot with a large diesel pusher motorhome was showing off his rig to my wife and I. He had 8 of them in there just for his non engine loads. The Rv'rs consider them to be high end for reliability and power.
Gotta love Sears, with all that buying power at their disposal.
Here is the diehard site:
DieHard Platinum Automotive Battery - Group Size 65 (Price with Exchange) - Automotive - Batteries - Car Batteries
Here is the Odyssey site page:
Odyssey PC1750T
And the Optima page for yellow top
OPTIMA® Batteries 8012-021 D34 YELLOWTOP® Starting & Deep-Cycle Battery :: OPTIMA® Batteries
Optima Red top:
OPTIMA® Batteries 8004-003 34/78 REDTOP® Starting Battery :: OPTIMA® Batteries
Compare the specs and you wil see the Odyssey/Diehard beats the Optima in all the good points. 930 CCA vs 800. 400 cycles vs 300. Higher amp hours. Deep Cycle, AND it fits the Excursion trays perfectly, unlike Optima.
The Sears warranty was better than any of the others, too. 48 months full price, 100 month pro rated
It was a no brainer for me. The Diehard won over the Optima hands down.
