Its bogging because it doent have enough fuel, It needs to up jetted (bigger fuel hole) and with a 350 you'll only have power up to 3800-4000 rpms

Yep, I have a mild build 460 with headers and nice cam and only run a 600cfm Edelbrock.

I put a 750 on my 500hp 408w stroker that was purpose built for racing at the track with a 6500 limit dialed in to my Digital 6 MSD box. So unless you have similar plans, I'd go with Kobaltblue's advise and go with a 600. I prefer Edelbrock myself, but Holleys work too. Either one will give you plenty of +/- tuning ability to dial it in for the motor. I know in the crown vics with the windsor motors, the AOD was governed and limited the motor to ~4600 rpms from the factory. 4k rpms is a good # for your calculations

Have you tried putting in fresh plugs, running it for a bit and reading them? It can tell you alot about the fuel situation and clear up what you "think" is happening inside that engine.

Only so far I can help, You'll need to go to there web site and go over there directions..You need to read the plugs, And learn what to look/listen for when tuning a carb with jets....And it needs to be timed right 6* BTDC at idol and a good fresh tank of fuel.

Reading Spark Plugs Correctly

Ask gooooogle...I cant do it all for ya I can only keep you (maybe) from making a big mistake! And start a new post like "My engine is bogging" I only clicked on this because I was board. Header title is very important for good help.

Oh and to find a vacuum leak is spray carb cleaner around the intake gasket areas, and vacuum sources, base plate on the carb etc...It the idol goes up you found a leak, But make sure not to get it into the carb, You'll be defeating the purpose of looking for a leak.

My 429 is running on a 600cfm Holley currently, but I also have a 750 that I am going to rebuild and throw on. The small carburetor you have on that engine right now IS NOT enough. 750cfm is also not too large for a 429. You can always jet down if need be. If you have a 750 tracked down for a decent price, by all means buy it, rebuild it, and slap that sucker on. Then learn how to tune one and go to town on it. It's not rocket science, like some others would have you believe... I like the "run around the block, then try to catch your breath through a straw" analogy.

well my dads friend has the 750 and im getting it for free, so i figured id put it on and just see, if its too much i can always put the little one back on, and im also getting a set of D0VE heads for free, so i will be installing a hydraulic flat tappet cam and the 0* timing chain, along with the new heads, hoping i can get 300+HP

Depending on what year 429 you have, you probably have more than 300hp stock.

If you are getting that carb for free, DO IT! Get it, rebuild it (if need be) and slap it on. You will be amazed how much better it will run. Heads I know almost nothing about, never worked on any besides doing a valve job :/

Just a word of caution do not spray around the distributor cap while checking for vacuum leaks if there is a crack it will blow off in pieces!!!!
