SO i was replacing my universal joint on my F350 4x4 today, and I got everything done, even greased my slip joint to get rid of the clunk i get......Now i cant get the 4 bolts back into the circle on the rear differential. They are going in WAY to hard!
I PB blasted the threads, and it feels like im cross threading the bolts. Any suggestions on what to do here? I know its shouild be simple, but Ive backed the bolts out multiple times and started over. I just dont know what else could be the reason they seem so tight.
You could be using the wrong set of holes. There are 8 of
them. Also take a wire brush and clean the bolts of
all the thread lock compound and if you happen to have
access to a .22cal bore brush spray some brake cleaner
on it and clean the holes too. Use the removable compound
when you reassemble it.
