I know my Predator (set up for my Gen 2 L) will read any OBD 2 compliant vehicle, so based on that, any DiabloSport Predator should (assuming here) work as a code reader, whether or not it's for a Ford or not.
No problem bud. One nice thing about the Predator: you can download a program from DiabloSport web site called Data Viewer. You CAN monitor and record live data
the ELM327 + torque app is money well spent!! everyone looking for an affordable diag tool, this is what you need to get!!! it's really nice when using a tablet.
You can monitor injectors for misfires, but there is nothing like the buzz test. if you have an earlier model 7.3, it is best to get something better since it will not work very well at all.
I'm very fond of the Scangauge II. It will monitor almost everything AE does and displays (4) parameters at once - as well as read and clear codes. I have Aeroforce Scangauges in both PSD's now, but still keep SGII in the glovebox. I've used it dozens of times to pull/clear codes in other OBDII vehicles over the years - and it can be found under $120 on sale...
I gotta read that thread about the Torque app. I never could get it to work for me.
Yes, I have SGII, AF Scangauge, Torque, AE and (4) gauges on A-pillar. Kinda geeky for a redneck, huh?

The Torque app does not like your 2000/2001 the same way it does not like my 1999. It really does not seem like they are ever going to update that since there have been very few requests on their support forum, and the ones that are there went unanswered. Don't get me wrong, it is very cool and works well. Did some diags on my mom's 95 Lincoln and was able to find the problem no one else could. Also helped a friend find out he has a bad injector on his 97 Expy. Not a bad diag tool for ~$15.
The scangauge looks really cool, but is over $100. We were on a quest to find something fast/easy/cheap for pulling DTC codes specifically on our 7.3l trucks. In the end, we found a VIN locked SuperChips 1705 is really the best/cheapest option.
