the local dealer quoted him $100 to read the codes, so he is looking to go cheaper. been too busy to get a hold of my buddy that would do it for a 12-pack, so he wants something to do it on his own.
that Predator looks like the way to go if it will read and clear the codes. any chance the live data worked with our trucks?
Empire, not sure about the one you mentioned, but i got me an el-cheapo off ebay ,and seems to read ANY code for when the CEL light is on. Read a EBP low on friends truck when the EBP sensor wasnt tightened down enough.

Yup, not only thru the EBP low code, it thru the code for another buddys 7.3 for the speedo being not right..(blinking OD light). The EBP one, we tightened it up, ran reader after clearing code, and BAM, no new/stored code. Not bad for 50 buks. Also, lol, did a bmw at autozone, showing a code that she was run'n lean, read my sisters tahoe for a brake sensor thing, ended up being her fluid was low, re-filled, cleared code, turned truck off, turned it back on, re-read system..BAM, alls good brother.
Oh-ya, for ****s, it even read my ICP being unplugged..(cant remember #/code). I disconnected it PURPOSELY so i wouldnt have to take wife to bakersfield for some stupid thing..HAHAHA
There ya go! If that TopTak works, that's money well spend. Less than $50 bucks total.
David, just FYI, the Predator is very VERY user friendly and a person would have to be an absolutely GIFTED moron to screw their rig up when using it to scan and clear codes.
