Some questions re: '01 E150

I recently bought an '01 e150 with a 4.6 and 102k(hence my screen name).
First, let me say that this is one heck of a van! Way better and different than my 95 dodge.

So my questions:

What year did the vans get the pi heads?

Where is the rear end tag located? My door tag has no rearend code on it. I assume it is the standard 3.55 but just want to know for sure. Also if it is LS or not.

Tranny? I assume the 4r75?

Brakes? Rear or 4wheel abs? Again my door jamb sticker is missing info. Is this even on there?

I also have a 2001 E150 conversion van with the 4.6.

I don't know anything about the pi heads, but the 2001 4.6 has 10 more horsepower than the previous year.

Mine is a 3.55 non-limited slip. The tags are attached to the differential cover bolts.

Tranny? I assume the 4r75?
Sorry, I have no idea.

I have the original window sticker, and it shows 4-wheel ABS as standard equipment.

Another new guy!

Thanks for the info. That is what makes forums like this indispensable.

I kinda figured it was 4wheel abs because of the application. Most conversions are. Must be part of the conversion prep package.

I found a bar code sticker on the axle end near the leaf spring that translated to a 3.55 LS. I only have the oil tag hanging of the bolts. I guess i have to jack it up and check

I did some research last night and found that the 4r100 tranny is the heavyduty one. No sense in that behind a 4.6

I also found that the vans are a year or 2 behind the pickups and mustangs when it comes to upgrades.
they got the PI heads and manifold in 99. So '01 should have it.

What is that brown stuff all over your diff? Rust? Lol
both of my vans spent their lives in florida and have none. It blows my mind everytime i go underneath.

What brand of conversion do you have? Mine's a sherrod.

Glad I could help!

Yep, being a Minnesota van since new, it has some rust on the underside. The body, however, is immaculate. Not a spec of rust anywhere.

My van is Geneva SVS conversion. My previous van, 1997 E150, was a 707 conversion. Both companies are out of business. There don't seem to be many van conversion companies left.
