Rear door lock actuator

I'm looking to replace my rear power door lock actuator.
Has anyone used one of the bootleg type brands? or should I get a Ford one.
Thanks

Bootleg/Generic ones will not work with the ford factory system. Get a ford specific drop in replacement, or get ford genuine parts. The ford actuators are very reliable.

I used of the aftermarket replacements in my van and haven't had any trouble, if I remember correctly it is a doorman brand.

I believe the bootleg/generic ones that 95e150cw is talking about are the universal ones made for adding power locks to a car ie: HIGH POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR 2 WIRE : Amazon.com : Automotive they can be made to work but it takes a lot of work to do so, mainly trying to get them mounted so they work properly.

Yes, the generic/universal ones are bad. Doorman is okay, and will do the job. I prefer Ford, but i wouldn't be against using parts store/doorman units.
