i have a 99 f150 4 door ext cab, with the off road package. My tranny is the 4r7w, is this the standard transmission or the upgrade and what is the difference? Also how would i know what my rear end is. i think it is a 3.55 but im not sure.
Since you typed it twice I'll assume you didn't forget the "0."
Like pro3qtr stated "U" under trans is the designatin for a 4R70W 4spd auto. An "E" is a 4R100 4spd auto, which is common on 5.4 V-8 trucks, but not used on 4.6 V-8's.
H9 or 19 is a 3.55 ratio. The H9 is the designation for the trac-loc or limited slip rear. 19 is used for the open rear. Other codes are listed in the decoder in the tech articles section.
