Finally get back to my restoration...7 years and counting.
I'm having trouble with the light on the column (PRNDL indicator) on my '77 F100, non tilt, no cruise. Using a multi meter I have 12 volts to the copper landing pad where the bulb socket fastens in. I've tested the bulb and socket in other parts of the dash to rule that out.
I've cleaned the copper pad with a pencil eraser, it's clean. I've tried other bulb/socket combos....same result.
I'm wondering if it's a ground issue however all other illumination lamps function.

Tilt wheel not offered until 1978 and 1978 was also the first year to offer a illuminated shift indicator dial. Note the applications for the dial.
Thanks Bill for your follow up. It's not the dial indicator I'm having trouble with, it's getting the bulb to illuminate.
I have the Ford Wiring Diagram for the truck. The splice code 806 has the other dash lights joining there. The ground is to the Y Brace behind the dash cluster. It appears good.
Hey Bill, I think the part the OP is reffering to is basic# 13711 socket and 13466 bulb. You can see this in the diagram section 35 page 15. It's part of the turn signal switch.
To the OP, it does sound like a ground issue. Seeing that you have 12V to the bulb, you've tried different sockets and checked the bulb, I would trace the ground circuit for that particular bulb. As to whether it could be the switch, I've never seen one fail like this but seeing as the bulb is part of the switch I guess it's possible. If all else fails in the troubleshooting I would say replace the switch.
thanks mikeo0o0o0, might have found the issue...I'm using a 194 bulb, in your post you mentioned a 13466 bulb, and yes I see that in the diagram now. Don't know why I didn't see that sooner....I'll report back.

The 13466 is Ford's basic part number for the bulb.

looking at the pic in my earlier post...there's a small copper ring to the right of the copper landing spot where the bulb and base fasten in. I was missing the small screw that goes in there. Once I inserted the screw...tada! the light came on.
