I went out at lunch today fired my truck up, pushed the brake, grabbed the shifter to put it in gear and the O/D button and housing came off in my hand!!
the wires are still attached but the end is dangling and driving me crazy! Does anyone know if I need to replace the whole lever? will the **** come off? does it unscrew? Any part numbers would be helpful as well.
Black electrical tape.
Mine would last 4 or 5 months, then I'd have to put new tape on it.
In hot cab in summer tape wouldn't last as long.
I never did look to see how to fix it.
I have a shift handle laying around somewhere. Provided that I find it, I'll mail it to you if you cover shipping. Send me a private message if you're interested.
