Just dumped a sizeable chunk of change on preventive stuff for my 6.0. Did most of it from advice found here. Did the EGR delete and the tuner (set to the first setting above stock), also new oil cooler, blue spring regulator, ARP studs, new o-rings in injectors and had the recall done on the fuel injector harness and the exhaust pressure sensor.
Hope this takes care of things before they happen. The cost was probably about the same, if they had gone out, but at least I got the pick the time and place for repairs instead of on the road somewhere.
Will find out when I hook up the 5th wheel and take off this week.
However, thanks to all who made suggestions as to what to look out for.
what about coolant flush, coolant filter, check t-stat before you tow, have batteries load tested individually, alt checked, voltages, etc, fuel filters
They did a complete flush (that's what I took it for in the first place) and even replaced the degas bottle (too much sand in the old one) and checked the water pump.

Excellant reason to install that coolant filter. Trust me they didn't get it all.
