Im a little confused how the eco boost can be the best thing since sliced bread, to not all its cracked out to be?? Care to divulge more info on that? I got the impression you LOVED the eco boost??
Now that is a sweet sweet truck sherm. Im curious on the gas vs the diesel (im guessing just too much in town driving and the cost doesnt justify?)
Youll love the super duty series of trucks. I know mine is older now, but I have such a love for it, I have a hard time wanting to sell it to upgrade, and I know when I do, I will love the new superduty just the same.
Nice nice truck man!

The ecoboost WAS the best thing since sliced bread. However, it was accumulating some issues, some that Ford was unable to fix so far (intercooler condensation issue). My mileage has never been close to what was predicted, and I will admit I got caught up in the hype that it was going to be a more efficient beast than any other truck on the road. I did "love" the Ecoboost when it was without issues. The intercooler condensation issue conflicted with mpg. If I drove nice and easy, it would collect water. When I tramp on it for passing or towing, it would suck the water into the motor and drown. If I drove like an idiot 24/7, there wasn't the water issue, but then I'm filling the baby fuel tank every 3 days... Its spend a bit of time overloaded this summer also, which made me consider the larger truck, as well as I want to get a sled deck which will put me over F150 limits once loaded.
Gas vs Diesel was a no brainer. 9k+ for the diesel more than the gasser, and like Prep said, most trips being 5-minuters, I think its a little rough on a diesel to idle it for 1/2 hour to drive for 5 minutes. With rebates and a great dealer to work with, I got a very good deal on this truck.

haha...how about you pony up some payments since you enjoy it so much...lol... It looks different already. Put new Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on there. It was part of the deal as my trade had so much stuff on it. Pretty close to 35" tires, they hardly rub at all... Fills the wheel wells quite nicely and makes it look like a real truck shud.

Let us know how the dura tracs end up being. I wanted a set of those really bad, but since we bought a new 5th wheel trailer, and plan to tow our boat behind it, Im thinking I might have to go back to the toyo mt's.
They dont offer the dura tracs in a 285/70/17 and ten ply, d'oh.
Dont forget we like pics in here man, bet she looks mean with the dura tracs.

I'd wanted 10 ply as thats what I had on my F150. They were 295/65r18. For some reason thats one of the only sizes that come in 10 ply in the duratrac. I really like them for traction. I had the F150 in some nasty mud on jobsites and got semi stuck in some pretty deep heavy snow but was able to get myself out of each situation with some wiggling. Another downfall of the ecoboost is the inability to pulsate the throttle in stuck situations. Don't know if it was just mine having issues, but to go on and off the throttle in quick repetition when stuck or whatnot, it wouldn't cooperate. I made certain to have T/C off also...
I will try and remember to get pics. The new rubber sure smarten it up.

Compared to OEM tires I found them noisy, but the DT's have been my first at an agressive off road tire. I really like them. Have nothing to compare them to other than normal tires, but they are FAR better than standard duty tires when it comes to getting around jobsites, no matter what season.
One thing I like about them that I'm not sure how other tires measure up, they have that winter rating. There is some siping on the big blocks, and they're drilled for studs. I know my buddy has some gnarly tires on his 2500 Dodge, and they're death traps in the winter. Look good, but haven't got much traction off dry pavement. I think they're Toyo's or Nitto?
